Seeking a strong Linux Systems Engineer for a physical and Cloud environment within the healthcare Business Intelligence space. Responsible for the design build out of, and day-to-day operations and maintenance of Servers and infrastructure systems.

Heavy project based work and development or road maps. You will carry out some or all of the following: Server maintenance, System upgrades, infrastructure design and layout, OS installation and maintenance, and Server hardening. Work on solutions for Cloud hosting. Port existing products into AWS.


Redhat Linux Administration/Oracle Enterprise Linux Servers

Provision server builds outs

Work with Oracle DBA teams to automate jobs via Korn or KSH/Bash Scripting

Assist with WebLogic installations and administration when necessary

Configure, update and operate monitoring of Data Center operations, including application and hardware environmental monitoring.

Ensure all Unix/Linux based Servers are adhering to change control and are audited

Working with customers both internal and external to troubleshoot incidents

Maintaining documentation and diagrams for both daily operations and Disaster Recovery

Assist Backup Administrator with Unix/Linux backups.

Required Qualifications

Designs and integrate Linux with SANs.

Develops, installs and maintains utility programs/Shell Scripts to handle system level functions.

Evaluates and makes recommendations for new computer hardware and/or software systems

Ability to work around storage (not an admin of it)

Project based experience is required


Excellent coordination and communication skills

5+ years administrative experience with Linux (Redhat X+, Other Linux distribution)

Monitors performance of Linux Servers. Isolates, corrects and improves operational efficiency through changes to the software or reconfiguration of the hardware.

5+ years experiences in Shell Scripting (korn/bash)

Experience standing up Linux Servers in Oracle 11 and 12C environments

Experience with Tomcat, Weblogic, JBoss

Linux Partitioning

Automation and monitoring technology experience

experience with IP network, Switches and Routers


Plus skills:

Network troubleshooting

Some experience in a professional environment with Cloud based solutions

Exposure to Scripting with (Ansible, Chef, Docker etc)

Cloud Foundry

RHCE, Linux, certifications

New Relic monitoring




Some experience with AWS (EC2 or EC3)
