The Counseling Director serves as the leading mental health expert and resource to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus community. The Director works collaboratively with the other units within the Norris Health Center, a combined health, counseling and health promotion and wellness system serving 26,000 students and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care since 2000. The Director also collaborates with multiple offices within the Division of Student Affairs, other campus departments, and academic units. This position reports to the Executive Director of Health and Well-being and is responsible for all services of the University Counseling Services (USC) of Norris Health Center. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the University Counseling Director has clinical responsibilities and provides short-term individual and group counseling, supervises advanced trainees, and oversees campus outreach efforts.
