When you're achieving as much we are, you just want to tell the world. Doing this well takes both creative talent and detailed planning. That's why we've created a new role for a Communication Executive. And why the role's so essential. Externally, our ground-breaking research needs to be shared in a compelling and accessible way. Internally, there's a lot going on too. As a team we want to share that in the very best way we can. And that's where you come in.
You'll need to be an expert writer and communicator with an absolute passion for life science, or a life science graduate with an absolute passion for writing and communication. Either works for us.
Working closely with our Chief Business Officer as well as our PR agency and wider leadership team you'll be responsible for
Understanding our scientific achievements and business news and drafting press releases for review by the PR agency and the Chief Business Officer
Developing material and messaging that's appropriate for our websites, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook
Building the annual communications plan and project managing this, delivering and owning many of the actions
Understanding what needs to be communicated internally, ensuring there is a response to any queries or feedback
Acting a primary owner for the Company's collaborative intranet "The Core" running on the Jive platform:
Superuser for the software
acting as primary contact for all internal queries
supporting the content champions around the business maximise The Core
training new content champions (colleagues)
making recommendations on how to expand the benefits of the Jive platform
Working with our design agencies to deliver marketing material such as banners, videos, PowerPoint templates and exhibition stands
Owning the co-ordination and delivery of the company wide meetings, including ensuring we have the right content
Reviewing and maintaining the Company's Q&A guide, brand style guide and emergency response guidelines
Needless to say to be successful in this role you'll be brilliant writer with a creative flair. You'll have created engaging press releases and documents (something we'll look forward to seeing at your interview). You'll fully understand how PR works and the benefits this brings. This will all be coupled with strong project management experience, use of Microsoft Office and your high attention to detail. But equally importantly, you'll be enthralled by our science and relish your engagement with our scientists and development team, drawing out the right messages and themes for your communications. That's why a life sciences degree would be highly beneficial too.
If you have experience of Jive or a similar collaborative platform that'd be great. Don't worry if you haven't we're happy to provide that training and insight.
If this sounds like a role that you'd thrive in and enjoy, and you have the experience we're looking for, then we'd delighted to hear from you.
