Position schedule will be based on the school's standard schedule. While some districts may offer opportunities outside of the regular school schedule, these are not guaranteed and opportunities will be limited.

The Child Nutrition Worker prepares and serves food items to students and/or school personnel in the absence of the regular child nutrition program worker.

Job Goals

Arrange food and beverage in order to serve them to students and staff in a safe and efficient manner

Clean utensils, equipment, and the storage, food preparation and serving areas (e.g. sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, washing tables, etc.) to maintain sanitary conditions

Inspect food items and/or supplies to verify quantity and specifications of orders and/or to comply with mandated health standards

Interact in a positive manner (e.g. students, staff, administration, general public, etc.) to establish a friendly and welcoming environment for customer dining

Conduct inventory of food, condiments, and supplies to ensure availability of items

Maintain food service equipment (e.g. weekly cleaning of proofers, ovens, steam tables, etc.)

Maintain strict confidentiality concerning student records

Requirements and Qualifications

High School Diploma

Clear Federal Fingerprint and Background Check through COGENT

Able to verify employment eligibility through completion of Federal I9 Form

Ability to work on an on-call basis

Friendly and approachable attitude

Prior related experience working with children

Punctual and professional

Maintains a professional appearance.

Able to lift heavy objects up to 65 pounds multiple times per day
